The Tower Port City.
-
Designed to maximize panoramic views in 360 degrees, this 360 Yard curvilinear skyscraper is designed aerodymanically utilizing cold-bent glass with smoothened edges as a non-conventional expression of a skyscraper, articulated with fluid facades and luxury interiors. The grand two-level lobby accessible directly from the Public Square and Gardens takes advantage of soaring ceilings and brilliant walls of glass, creating an inviting light filled space with distinct lounges facing the Indian Ocean.
The skyscraper accommodates state-of-the-art malls featuring international brands, arcades, casinos, indoor sporting facilities, gaming arenas, fine dining restaurants and, co-working spaces with a 1,700-square-meter open-air lounge that offers stunning sunset vistas in the Colombo City and Island’s most scenic beaches. The floors above feature 5,000 square meters of spa, salon, and fitness facilities. The Sky Lobbies act as windbreakers as well as intermediate spaces with a stunning undisrupted view at different levels.
The Residential Units are of two luxury types Duplexes and Penthouses with interior language that expands on the lobby’s use of rich materials such as timber floors and marble interiors. The concept of fluid and dynamic spaces are the evident in entirity of the project and has been applied for all levels and space, such as in the main living space, master bedroom, dining and outdoor space allowing a continuous open plan configuration. The main living and dining are the first threshold from the communal area to the private domain. The extravagant bedrooms utilize a warm and comforting beige-coloured material palette with contemporary furnishings, bold ornamentation with a lavish glass bath and modern fittings.
The space of the residences is not limited to the physical layout, the city surrounding the building becomes part of it and the added facade glazing only maintains the comfort of the indoor climate, connecting the city into an extended peripheral perception allowing a spectacular view from with the minimal division of individual glazed areas.
This 50 storey skyscaper is the epitome of a mixed development and avant-garde to the Port City Skyline.
